The Exotica Project got a nice write-up on Boing Boing today. Gratifying to see the site finding some traction amongst non-record-people. Thanks Bill Barol!

From '50s NYC clubland, a Yma Sumac-inspired version of "Babalu" by jazz/calypso singer Phyllis Branch. The radio show
The show is Lost Frequencies. Every Monday night from 9pm to 11pm (CST) on Marfa Public Radio I explore the atmospheric side of post-War music: bop & vocals, soul/R&B heartbreak, exotica & soundtrack moods, Latin jazz, oddball instrumentals, honky-tonk ballads, early electronics - even some dreamy '60s psychedelic pop. Tune in at Marfa Public Radio or at KRTS 93.5fm.Categories

Ah, the bleak mid-winter! Our Hyde Park Fixer-Upper’s indoor plumbing reminds me of a Ruidoso outhouse at Christmas. At least we have the Exotica Project, (is there an internet yet in Ruidoso?). Stay warm, compadre, and come see the big city where Margaritae spring from every corner, and Uncle Craig springs for the Margaritae. Just stumbled upon a copy of “Desire Develops ans Edge”, and am finally learning something after my half-life without it—now you hip me to “Broadcast”! Keep keeping me young, and perhaps I’ll survive my 25th SXSW. Come Play—Craig
Haha, good to hear from you Craig! I will forever proselytize for Broadcast.
Pacific Northwest is to Texas as Marfa is to Austin, and Boing Boing brings it all together. Who knew I would read about my old dear friend Dan Shiman on the innerweb? I am so glad to see/hear that you are living radio in West Texas, and that Office Naps is alive and well – as am I in the PDX. Thank gawd for it!

The Exotica Project is amazing and wonderful. Any way you could post the songs as downloadable MP3’s, as on the (also wonderful) Office Naps site, though? Thanks.
Alain: Thanks for your kind words. Audio on the Exotica Project will remain stream-only for the foreseeable future.
